Denzel Washington, Ryan Reynolds
It’s training day for another white boy pinned under the mirthful glare of Washington. Inexperienced agent Reynolds is bored out of his skull in a dead-end South African assignment—that is, until Washington’s notorious lone wolf is escorted into his custody. Cue several explosions and the pair is on the run, the title location no longer secure. We like the deep cast of action vets (including Brendan Gleeson and Robert Patrick), and Cape Town’s harsh sunlight is perfect for lengthy sequences of highway mayhem. Mainly, though, we just hope for a few devilish putdowns from the D-Man.
