You Better Not Cry
Augusten Burroughs
The Running With Scissors author is back with a collection of yuletide tales from St. Martin’s Press. Burroughs recounts his early confusion of Santa and Jesus, the time he slept with Santa, and his would-be gingerbread house that turned into “a ginger bread public housing tenement.” He has great comic material, but tends to overdo it. When he tackles more serious epi sodes, such as spending a few lost nights with bums, he adds welcome poignancy to his humor.
