Women and men also differ when it comes to the pace of their sexual arousal. While male sexual arousal is spontaneous, female sexual desire is receptive, or responsive to the ambience, environment and physical stimulation. Women take a lot longer to get aroused than men, hence their need for longer foreplay. But while male sexual arousal is rapid to rise and fall, female sexual arousal is slower to rise and slower to fall resulting in shorter refractory period (or length of time during which sexual arousal cannot be achieved). This explains why she continues to be in a sexually receptive mood even after her orgasm while your arousal declines almost immediately after your orgasm, resulting in rapid loss of sexual desire. All the more reason to make sure she has her orgasm first!
