The Philadelphia Penthouse Club premiered with a VIP party on Friday, August 7, followed by a grandopening celebration for the public on Saturday, August 8. In attendance were 2009 Pet of the Year Taya Parker and Penthouse Pets Taylor Vixen—whose sizzling centerfold steams up our 40th Anniversary Issue—Krista Ayne, and Cali Taylor. The Pets also made an appearance on The Danny Bonaduce Show (Danny was our host for the grand opening); five lucky listeners got lap dances from Taylor and former St. Louis Penthouse Club dancer Cali.

Back at the Philly Penthouse Club, headliner Taya—who won Bret Michaels’ heart on Rock of Love Bus— earned the devotion of the entire crowd with a feature routine. She was a big hit with the Pets as well; they were right in front of the stage cheering her on. During Taya’s “bathtub” sequence, she threw a sponge into the crowd and asked a patron to wash her back. Cali managed to snag the highly prized invite and squealed, “It’s my pleasure!” before treating the crowd to a Pet-on-Pet scrubdown.

Taya also roped Danny into playing along with her. During Taya’s January ’09 Pet of the Year tour, she visited Danny’s radio show and demonstrated a lap-dance trick or two. After their flirtatious exchange, the rumors were flying: Did Danny hit on Taya? Did Taya hit on Danny? Did Danny really say on the air that Taya slipped him her number? Was this more than a publicity-stunt feud? At the Philly club opening, the pair publicly buried the hatchet. Danny walked onstage at Friday’s VIP premiere with Krista, Taylor, and Cali, then introduced Taya. When she came out, he grandly said, “Are we good? Is all forgiven?” Taya smiled demurely and said, “Yes, of course, Danny,” then hauled off and slapped him with all her five-foot, 100-pound might. The crowd went crazy, so the scene was repeated for Saturday’s audience, and Danny once again took it like a man. He also gifted the club with a framed portrait of his “nude” appearance in Penthouse (his package was covered by a guitar) from his interview in the March 2008 issue, for the ladies’ room. “I had to give a little something to the ladies,” the physique-proud Danny joked to the Pets on his show.

The Pets were on hand to meet patrons on the red carpet, then autographed head shots and magazines in the front lobby so the lucky guests had truly memorable souvenirs. The club’s Key Girls entertained the crowd all night on both the side stages and the main stage. As always, they were also on hand throughout the club, chatting with patrons, beautifying the already gorgeous premises, and, of course, providing those ever popular lap dances.

The elegant tone of the Penthouse Club in Philadelphia starts with the vintage theater-style entrance, and is carried throughout the high-energy lounge with wood furniture, plush chairs and couches, and lights everywhere; the VIP area and private rooms are sensually lush, with full-length curtains for privacy. The club menu boasts luscious steak and seafood options, a range of appetizers from wings to shrimp cocktail, and a number of reasonably priced and delicious sandwiches. The opening of the newest Penthouse Club was one of the biggest, brightest, and most exciting ever. The entertainment included the club’s sultry Key Girls, plus Penthouse Pets Erica Elly son, Justine Joli, Heather Vandeven, Krista Ayne, and Cali Taylor, who won our 2007 Key Girl contest. “There’s a lot to do and a lot to see,” Erica said. “It’s almost sensory overload, but I love it.”

“It’s like Vegas in the Midwest with that Detroit Rock City edge,” Cali added. “As a dancer, I can tell you this will be a really fun place to work. But it’s even more fun to be a VIP guest.”

The billboard of Heather set the stage for the club’s oversize show. Patrons sank into plush booths and chairs to enjoy performances they’ll remember forever. The most unique feature? Two stunning, custom made motorcycles from Stevenson’s Cycles in Wayne, Michigan. The choppers rise two stories and rotate 360 degrees, allowing the dancers to show off their Motor City–worthy moves. At the opening, our Pets donned some sexy motorcycle gear from Azzure Clothes and broke in the bikes. But once the Key Girls climbed atop, even the sexiest gear was too much clothing.

The multilevel stage also has a gigantic martini glass for two where Key Girls can be seen getting intimate. Even our Pets got in the act: Erica cozied up to Justine, while Cali took on Heather. Erica even picked the music for her pas dedeux with Justine. “My favorite songs to dance to at the Penthouse Clubs are Buckcherry’s ‘Crazy Bitch’ and Def Leppard’s ‘Pour Some Sugar on Me,’ ” said Erica. “When the deejay played them, I went into full wild-girl mode.”

As amazing as the show gets, it’s not the sole attraction. The restaurant features the best steaks and seafood Detroit has to of fer. The manage ment at Penthouse Club Detroit couldn’t be happier. “The opening went beyond our expec tations,” said General Manager Matt Killgore. “We are so excited about this partnership, and we look forward to seeing what our future holds.” We’ll be back to check things out.

The 2007 Hedonism II Key Girl of the Year competition, at the Hedonism II resort in Negril, Jamaica, was all we’d hoped it would be and more. Between the sexy banana eating, wet T-shirt contests, topless water volleyball, and naughty costumes, the girls forged their own legend in a party paradise. The lovely ladies – Summer from Myrtle Beach, Vixen from Houston, Cali from St. Louis, and Envy and Carmen from Chicago – battled it out over four days of fierce, fun contests. And since every competition should have a sexy master of ceremonies, May 2007 Pet Andie Valentino was on hand to make sure the girls brought their A game.

The marquee event was the Key Girl Dance Competition, which kicked off with a choreographed opening routine and a sizzling hot-wax treatment. Then the girls launched into a juicy tell-all Q&A session, revealing their deepest fantasies. Steamy temperatures called for skimpy costumes, and Carmen sparked things up first in a dominatrix outfit. Vixen followed as the Queen of Hearts, performing a can-can dance that demonstrated her impressive flexibility. Summer was up next in a surprisingly sexy Harry Potter outfit, though it vanished quickly, leaving her free to drizzle chocolate on herself (Andie selflessly helped her clean up). Then Envy donned a belly-dancer outfit and shimmied through a sultry routine and baby-oil show. Finally, Cali handpicked a lucky hottie from the audience for a whipped-cream girlon-girl performance.

It wasn’t all hard work, though. The girls relaxed by the pool, demonstrated their skills on the nightclub’s stripper pole, appeared in a fashion show, posed for photos, and ran around in lingerie. Hedonism II is the perfect setting for a wild time, and the Key Girls made waves wherever they went – even at the piano bar, where one of the contestants enthusiastically serenaded the guests…topless.

After a fun-filled week, we crowned Cali from the St. Louis Penthouse Club the 2007 Hedonism II Key Girl of the Year. Her dance skills, crowd rapport, and sunny attitude won over the judges and gave resort guests a once-in-a-lifetime experience. (Cali is a favorite with our readers, too. She won our 2007 Key Party Club Contest as well, which is how she became February 2008 Pet of the Month.)
